UFC strawweight Cynthia Calvillo has been flagged by the USADA for testing positive for marijuana metabolite exceeding the 180 ng/mL limit in a sample collected in relation to her bout with Carla Esparza at UFC 219 on Dec. 30, the promotion announced Wednesday.
The 30-year-old went into her bout opposite Esparza with three UFC victories accrued in 2017, only to drop a unanimous decision - her first loss in seven professional fights - at the year-end event.
The last fighter to be flagged for marijuana was middleweight Kelvin Gastelum, who was yanked from his date with Anderson Silva at UFC 212 this past April as a result. He was ultimately slapped with a 90-day ban and saw his March knockout of Vitor Belfort overturned to a no-contest.
