Judge: 'I'll be there' when Home Run Derby returns to New York

It could be a few more years until New York Yankees star Aaron Judge makes his return to the Home Run Derby.

Judge said he won't participate in this year's event but vowed to take part the next time the Big Apple hosts the MLB All-Star Game.

"I'm not done with it," Judge said Sunday, according to Dan Martin of the New York Post. "Once it's back in New York, I'll be there."

The 32-year-old hasn't competed in the Home Run Derby since winning it as a rookie in 2017. He said people affiliated with the event asked him to take part this year, but he feels "there's no need."

The MLB All-Star Game will be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on July 16. It'll then be held at Atlanta's Truist Park in 2025 and Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park in 2026. The 2027 and 2028 venues have yet to be announced, but commissioner Rob Manfred previously named Chicago and Toronto as the top candidates to host.
