Report: Robert expected to miss 6-8 weeks with hip flexor strain
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is expected to be out for six-to-eight weeks with a hip flexor strain, a source told Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Robert sustained the injury rounding the bases on a double during Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals.
The 26-year-old enjoyed his first healthy season last year, becoming an All-Star for the first time after recording 38 homers with an .857 OPS and 4.9 fWAR over 145 games. He logged a combined 166 contests from 2021-22 due to multiple long-term injuries, including a hip flexor ailment that cost him three months.
Robert has hit two round-trippers with a .741 OPS across seven games this season.
Chicago has lost eight out of nine contests to start the 2024 campaign.
