Syndergaard after latest stinker: 'Not a lot of positive emotions right now'
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Noah Syndergaard is having a rough time on the mound, getting shelled Friday again by allowing six runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings against the Tampa Bay Rays.
"Just not a lot of positive emotions right now when I think about pitching, in particular," Syndergaard said, according to Juan Toribio of MLB.com.
The rough outing resulted in Syndergaard having an even more inflated 6.27 ERA on the season.
Syndergaard turned to a hypnotist earlier in May in hopes of turning his campaign around.
The Dodgers signed Syndergaard to a one-year, $13-million contract this past winter after the former All-Star had a decent 2022 campaign split between the Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies. Over 134 2/3 innings, Thor posted a 3.94 ERA and 3.83 FIP.
While Syndergaard's strikeout stuff diminished heavily last year, he still did a good job limiting walks and home runs. However, he's already given up seven homers through 10 starts in 2023.
