Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani won The Associated Press' Male Athlete of the Year award Tuesday.
Ohtani became the 11th unanimous choice ever for American League MVP after a historic 2021 campaign.
The 27-year-old hit 46 homers with 100 RBIs and 26 stolen bases while posting a 3.18 ERA and 156 strikeouts across 23 starts as a pitcher.
The Japanese star is only the third MLB player over the last 20 years to win the Male Athlete of the Year award.
