Report: Yankees interested in Twins' Kepler
New York has had eyes on Kepler for some time, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, although a deal is not thought to be close.
Kepler, who plays both right and center field, is hitting .214/.301/.448 with 14 home runs, 40 RBIs, and eight stolen bases this season. He's fared much better against right-handed pitching - .806 OPS versus right-handers, compared to .601 against lefties - and might be better deployed in a platoon role.
The 28-year-old German is owed $22.75 million in guaranteed money through 2023. His deal contains a club option in 2024.
