The Chicago Cubs clinched the NL Central for their third division title in five years Saturday night after the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0.

The overall playoff picture, meanwhile, remains up in the air entering the final day of the regular season.

Saturday's loss to the Chicago White Sox has locked the Cubs into the NL's third seed, with the second seed belonging to the Atlanta Braves as a result.

Milwaukee beat the Cardinals to avoid elimination and will need to do so again Sunday to stay alive. The Brewers also need the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies to each lose one of their two remaining games, both of which occurred on Saturday.

St. Louis can clinch a postseason berth by beating the Brewers on Sunday. If the Cardinals lose, they'll fall to 29-29 and play the Detroit Tigers on Monday to make up for postponements.
