Nolan Arenado's 2020 season is over.

The Colorado Rockies placed the All-Star third baseman on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left shoulder bone bruise and AC joint inflammation.

Arenado was held out of the lineup Sunday while undergoing tests on his injured shoulder. He revealed last week that he had been playing through an AC joint injury for most of this summer, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com.

The 29-year-old struggled offensively this year, hitting a career-low eight home runs while slashing .253/.303/.434 over 48 games. He did continue to provide elite defense at the hot corner, accruing 15 defensive runs saved and a 6.7 ultimate zone rating with only three errors.

Arenado has another six years and $199 million left on his contract with the Rockies. He can opt out after next season.

Colorado recalled outfielder Sam Hilliard in a corresponding move.
