Aaron Judge: I'm 'game ready' for Opening Day
Aaron Judge will be ready to play on Opening Day.
The New York Yankees outfielder, who's been recovering from a severe rib injury, said there is no doubt he'll be good to go when the team begins its season against the Washington Nationals on July 23.
"I'm game ready. Like I told you guys in spring training, I was going to be ready for Opening Day," Judge said, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.
The 28-year-old says his main goal leading up to the opener is "getting the reps in" and improving his timing, according to Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record.
Judge participated in an intrasquad game Monday, playing in right field.
The two-time All-Star is an integral piece of the Yankees' lineup, owning a .273/.394/.558 slash line with 110 home runs and 246 RBIs in 396 games.
