The Washington Nationals are reversing a decision to slash minor-league weekly stipends from $400 to $300, reports Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic, who adds the team will once again pay MiLB players the full amount.

Washington decided to go against cutting salaries "upon further internal discussion," according to a memo obtained by Ghiroli.

The club now plans to pay minor leaguers the full $400-per-week stipend through June, a source told Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com.

The reported change of heart comes after Nationals players decided Sunday to pay the shortages caused by the cuts.

"Minor leaguers are an essential part of our organization and they are bearing the heaviest burden of this situation as their season is likely to be canceled. We recognize that and want to stand with them and show our support," reliever Sean Doolittle wrote on Twitter.

MLB teams released hundreds of minor leaguers last week in order to save money during the coronavirus-induced work stoppage. Back in March, clubs agreed to pay MiLB players $400 per week through May 31 when the 2020 campaign was put on hold.
