The Houston Astros' illegal sign-stealing scheme is being turned into a podcast and television series.

Cadence13 is set to release a new documentary podcast series this summer that will delve into the Astros' 2017 World Series-winning season, according to Natalie Jarvey of The Hollywood Reporter.

Ben Reiter of Sports Illustrated will write and host the series, while Leon Neyfakh and Andrew Parsons - co-creators of the popular podcast "Slow Burn" - will produce.

A TV series based on the podcast is also in the works from Left/Right Productions.

"We have long wanted to apply our narrative approach to a story that's outside the world of politics," Neyfakh said in a statement. "The Astros saga is the perfect place for us to start - in addition to being populated by amazing characters, it forces you to ask yourself hard questions about the meaning of fairness, cheating, and secrecy."

Astros owner Jim Crane acknowledged during a press conference Thursday that the team "broke the rules," but said he doesn't believe the sign-stealing affected results on the field.
