The Los Angeles Angels signed catcher Jason Castro to a one-year deal, the club announced Tuesday.

The pact is worth $6.85 million, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Castro was one of the top catchers left on the free-agent market and will likely split time with former Houston Astros teammate Max Stassi behind the plate in Los Angeles.

The 32-year-old Castro spent the last three seasons with the Minnesota Twins, hitting .229/.325/.390 with 24 home runs in 208 games. He appeared in 79 contests in 2019, hitting 13 homers and nine doubles while posting a .767 OPS - the second-highest mark of his career.

Castro marks the latest notable addition for the Angels this winter, joining Julio Teheran, Anthony Rendon, and Dylan Bundy.
