Washington Nationals right-hander Anibal Sanchez hasn't allowed a hit through seven innings in Game 1 of the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.

It's the second time Sanchez has thrown at least six hitless frames in a playoff game. He previously went that deep into a postseason outing without allowing a hit in Game 1 of the 2013 ALCS while with the Detroit Tigers. Sanchez is the first pitcher in postseason history to record multiple six-plus inning no-hit bids, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

Sanchez, who threw a regular-season no-hitter in 2006, has struck out five, walked one, and hit two batters on 89 pitches through seven innings. He stranded the potential tying run at third base to end the sixth.

Sanchez will face Tommy Edman, Paul DeJong, and the pitcher's spot in the eighth.

Washington holds a 2-0 lead on St. Louis.
