The Toronto Blue Jays removed shortstop Bo Bichette from Thursday's game against the Baltimore Orioles for precautionary concussion testing, the team announced.

Bichette will be re-evaluated in New York on Friday, according to the Toronto Sun's Rob Longley.

A 93-mph pitch hit the 21-year-old on the brim of his helmet in the sixth inning.

Bichette initially remained in the game before Richard Urena replaced him to start the bottom of the seventh inning.

Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said Bichette began to experience some concussion-like symptoms after the defensive half of the sixth inning, according to MLB.com's Zachary Silver.

Bichette is hitting .311 with a .930 OPS to go along with 11 home runs, 18 doubles, and 21 RBIs in 46 games for the Blue Jays since debuting on July 29.
