The New York Yankees are looking to bolster their starting rotation ahead of the July 31 trade deadline.

The AL East leaders are among the teams that have contacted the Arizona Diamondbacks about starter Robbie Ray in recent days, a source told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

The Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, and Milwaukee Brewers have also been recently mentioned as interested parties in the 27-year-old southpaw.

Ray is 9-6 with a 3.95 ERA and 162 strikeouts in 123 innings this season. He posted 10 punchouts in his most recent outing against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday en route to recording his fourth straight victory.

No Yankees pitcher has thrown as many frames as Ray this season, and only Masahiro Tanaka and J.A. Happ have eclipsed 100 innings for New York. Entering Tuesday, Yankees starters held a collective 4.26 ERA, the 13th-best mark in baseball.
