New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone will serve a one-game suspension for his confrontation with umpire Brennan Miller on Thursday, according to a release obtained by James Wagner of the New York Times.

Boone will miss the opening tilt of a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies. The second-year manager was also fined an undisclosed amount.

MLB chief baseball officer Joe Torre called Boone's conduct toward Miller inappropriate, and determined that he made physical contact with the rookie umpire.

Boone made Miller the subject of a memorable tirade while arguing balls and strikes. In addition to telling Miller, "I feel bad for ya, but fucking get better," Boone labeled his own hitters "fucking savages."

The Yankees went on to win the game 6-2, and then took the second part of their doubleheader versus the Tampa Bay Rays with a 5-1 result.

The 62-33 Yankees sport the best record in the majors.
