Starlin Castro's time in South Beach could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.

Teams have reached out to the Miami Marlins about the 10-year veteran, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Castro, a four-time All-Star, could provide infield depth for a contender, as he's played 535 games at second base and 847 at shortstop while suiting up for the Marlins, New York Yankees, and Chicago Cubs. He's manned the keystone position almost exclusively since 2016.

Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill acknowledged that the club is expected to be a seller again leading up to the July 31 trade deadline.

"We understand where we are organizationally," Hill said. "I think we have some interesting pieces from an asset standpoint. We'll just look to be as opportunistic as we can and maximize value for our assets knowing where we want to go."

Castro, 29, struggled at the plate in the first half of this season, slashing .245/.272/.336 with six home runs and 34 RBIs.
