Mariners' Haniger out indefinitely with ruptured testicle
The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Mitch Haniger on the 10-day injured list Friday with a ruptured testicle, according to Greg Johns of MLB.com.
Haniger suffered the injury when he fouled a pitch off himself against the Houston Astros on Thursday. Though he was initially diagnosed with a testicular contusion, tests ultimately revealed the much more serious injury.
He needed immediate surgery to repair the injured testicle and will be out indefinitely.

"He's going to be okay, but I can't imagine he will be doing anything for a couple of weeks," manager Scott Servais said Friday, according to Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times. "There's no timetable there."
The 28-year-old, who was a first-time All-Star in 2018, has played in 63 games this season and owns a .220/.314/.463 slash line with 15 homers and an MLB-leading 81 strikeouts.
In a corresponding roster move, the Mariners selected the contract of right-hander Tayler Scott from Triple-A Tacoma.
The banged-up Mariners now have 11 players currently on the injured list. Haniger's injury leaves the team with only three available outfielders and two bench players for Friday's road game against the Los Angeles Angels.
