Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias won't face charges relating to his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence last month, according to Richard Winton and Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.

Rather than filing misdemeanor charges, prosecutors have recommended that Urias receive a city attorney hearing. At that hearing, Urias will be informed that he won't face legal action relating to the alleged incident provided he's not found guilty of other violent criminal behavior for the next year.

"We are deferring prosecution at this time because: 1) this incident did not result in any physical injury; 2) the victim at no point indicated to either the uniformed police officers or to civilian witnesses that she believed she was a victim; and 3) Mr. Urias has no record of prior criminal conduct," Los Angeles city attorneys wrote in a statement, according to Winton and Castillo.

Urias, 22, was arrested in connection with the incident on May 13. A witness reportedly told police that Urias shoved a woman to the ground after arguing with her. However, the woman denied any physical altercation took place.

Major League Baseball immediately placed Urias on administrative leave following the arrest, though he was reinstated seven days later and remains on the Dodgers' active roster.

Urias may not be facing any criminal charges, but MLB's investigation into the incident is ongoing, a person with knowledge of the situation told Winton and Castillo. He could still be subject to discipline from MLB if he's found to have violated the league's domestic violence policy.
