It appears that Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story has avoided any serious injuries after a scary play Wednesday.

Story left the game against the Boston Red Sox after colliding with teammate Raimel Tapia in left field. However, Story said after the contest that he suffered a bruised knee and that he hopes to play against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday, according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post.

Tapia stayed in the game but Story exited the contest and was replaced by Pat Valaika.

Story helped the Rockies storm back from a five-run deficit against Boston as the All-Star had a two-run single in the top of the seventh before his night came to an unfortunate end in the bottom of the ninth.

Coming into Wednesday's action, the 26-year-old was hitting .273/.342/.497 with nine home runs and 26 RBIs in 41 games in 2019.
