New York Mets reliever Jacob Rhame has been suspended two games by Major League Baseball for throwing at Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The league ruled that Rhame intentionally threw near Hoskins' head on Tuesday, but it appears as though the right-hander will appeal the decision, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post. If Rhame chooses not to appeal, the suspension will begin Friday.

Rhame was also fined an undisclosed amount for the incident.

"It sure looked like it to me. It damn sure did look like it," Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said when asked if he thought Rhame threw at Hoskins intentionally, according to Joe Giglio of Sports Radio WIP.

Hoskins ultimately got his revenge Wednesday when he hit a two-run home run off the 26-year-old.

The Phillies and Mets meet again for a four-game series June 24.
