The City of Brotherly Love can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper is listed as day-to-day after X-rays on his ankle came back negative, according to Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic.

Manager Gabe Kapler, encouraged by the prognosis, doesn't expect the club's star offseason acquisition to miss significant time.

"I don't have concerns about him not being ready for Opening Day," Kapler said.

Harper suffered a contusion when he was hit on his right ankle by a pitch from Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Trent Thornton on Friday afternoon.

Harper will be kept out of the lineup on Saturday against the Houston Astros as a precaution, according to Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
