A new team has apparently entered the Mike Moustakas sweepstakes.

The Los Angeles Angels are in on the third baseman, reports MLB Network's Jon Heyman, who adds the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, and Philadelphia Phillies are other possibilities.

This is the first mention of the Angels' interest in the 30-year-old, who was born in Los Angeles and attended high school in Chatsworth, Calif.

Los Angeles signed third baseman Zack Cozart to a three-year deal before the beginning of last season, but he could potentially shift to second to accommodate Moustakas.

The rumor comes exactly one week after The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal wrote a reunion between the Brewers and Moustakas "seems inevitable." Rosenthal added that a team that loses out on signing one of Manny Machado or Bryce Harper could turn to him as a backup plan.

Moustakas belted 28 home runs with 95 RBIs for the Brewers and Kansas City Royals in 2018 and came one game shy of reaching the World Series with Milwaukee.
