Several teams are keeping an eye on free-agent shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. The veteran held an open workout on Tuesday and one team that apparently brought the big recruitment guns was the San Francisco Giants.

Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi and longtime manager Bruce Bochy were on hand to watch Tulowitzki, sources told Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Tulowitzki, who hails from the Bay Area, was released by the Toronto Blue Jays last week with three years and $38 million remaining on his contract, including a $4-million buyout on his club option in 2021.

The infielder has almost exclusively played shortstop throughout his 12-year career, though he hasn't appeared in a game since 2017. Following Tulowitzki's release, his agent said he'd be willing to change positions for whichever team signs him.

If he were to sign with the Giants, there isn't immediately a spot for him in the infield barring another move. Brandon Crawford is entrenched at shortstop with Joe Panik at second base, Evan Longoria at third, and Brandon Belt at first.

Representatives from 11 teams attended Tulowitzki's workout on Monday at Long Beach State University. In addition to the Giants, the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, and San Diego Padres observed the 34-year-old, according to Yahoo's Tim Brown.

The Pirates had previously been reported as a potential landing spot for Tulowitzki.
