Los Angeles Angels pitchers were reportedly being scouted by the New York Yankees earlier this week, but the likelihood of the Halos shipping away a front-end starter appears remote.

The Angels have no interest in parting with left-hander Tyler Skaggs or righty Andrew Heaney as the two are seen as pieces to help them compete next year, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Skaggs, 27, is in the midst of a career year, posting a 2.57 ERA and 3.01 FIP over 98 innings. He's under team control through the 2020 season.

The 27-year-old Heaney is also enjoying a successful campaign, boasting with a 3.78 ERA and 3.83 FIP over 102 1/3 frames. He remains under contract through 2021.

The Angels are still drawing interest on controllable relievers, with Rosenthal specifically naming Blake Parker, Jose Alvarez, Cam Bedrosian, and Justin Anderson. After Keynan Middleton was sidelined with Tommy John surgery, Parker assumed the closer role and has posted a 3.05 ERA and 3.59 FIP with 10 saves. The 33-year-old is under team control through the 2020 season.
