The Big Apple just made a very big addition.

The New York Yankees announced Monday they've officially acquired reigning National League MVP Giancarlo Stanton and cash considerations from the Miami Marlins in exchange for second baseman Starlin Castro, minor-league right-hander Jorge Guzman, and minor-league infielder Jose Devers.

Stanton was introduced at a press conference Monday.

The Yankees are reportedly acquiring $30 million from the Marlins in the deal, which means they're on the hook for the $265 million left on Stanton's contract. He's eligible to opt out of his deal in 2020.

Stanton and his 59 home runs join an already powerful Yankees lineup that includes American League Rookie of the Year Aaron Judge and catcher Gary Sanchez. The Yankees led MLB in home runs (241) last season.

Over his eight-year career, Stanton owns a .268/.360/.554 slash line with 267 home runs and 672 RBIs.
