Watch: Red Sox go around the horn for 5-4-3 triple play

Winslow Townson / USA TODAY Sports

A day after clubbing two solo home runs, Boston Red Sox rookie Rafael Devers played a little defense.

The 20-year-old third baseman snagged a ground ball from St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina to jump-start a smooth 5-4-3 triple play in the top of the fourth inning Tuesday.

In addition to being the fifth triple play in 2017, it's the first time the Red Sox have turned one since Aug. 16, 2011 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
