Prior to their contest Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals, the New York Yankees held a moment of silence at Yankee Stadium and played a rendition of "God Save the Queen" to honor the victims of the Manchester, England terror attacks Monday.

Speaking to reporters pregame, Yankees skipper Joe Girardi admitted the tragedy had left him wondering about the level of security at baseball games.

"I think you always think about it," Girardi said, according to Matthew Martell of MLB.com. "I think our people have done a really good job of doing everything they can to protect our fans and protect the players and everyone involved that's here in this building - you, me.

"But you're always worried. That's the world we live in. So you put your faith in the people that are taking care of us and you trust them."

A total of 22 people died and 59 more were left injured after a suicide bomber detonated a bomb Monday evening as thousands of young fans were leaving an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena, according to The Telegraph.
