Report: Atletico, PSG nearing €15M Cavani agreement
Edinson Cavani's move from the French capital to its Spanish counterpart is one step closer to fruition.
Negotiations between the Uruguayan's current side Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid continued on Tuesday, according to a report from ESPN FC's Julien Laurens and Moises Llorens.
It's understood Atleti would table an initial fee of €15 million plus €3 million in potential add-ons for the striker. According to ESPN FC, Cavani has already agreed to personal terms with Los Colchoneros.
Cavani has largely been surplus to requirements this season at PSG following Mauro Icardi's loan move from Inter. A series of injuries haven't helped Cavani's case, either. He's started just four league matches this season, prompting an admission from the club's sporting director Leonardo that Cavani asked for a move to Atletico.
Cavani was also linked with a move to MLS, with David Beckham's Inter Miami and the LA Galaxy both previously associated with the 2016-17 Ligue 1 Player of the Season.
The 32-year-old will leave PSG following a successful six-and-a-half-year spell highlighted by a club-record 198 goals in 283 appearances.
