Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be on his way out of Arsenal before the transfer windows across continental Europe close on Monday.

Roma are in talks with the Premier League club over a deal for the Armenian, according to the Guardian's Fabrizio Romano. The report surfaced just hours after Mkhitaryan appeared as a substitute in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Information about whether the move would be on permanent or loan terms is yet to be disclosed.

The Serie A outfit's wealth of attacking options include Edin Dzeko, Cengiz Under, and Justin Kluivert, but Roma did broker outgoing deals for Stephan El Shaarawy and Gregoire Defrel over the summer. Paulo Fonseca has collected two points during his two opening league matches as manager of the Giallorossi.

Mkhitaryan, 30, joined Arsenal as part of the infamous swap deal that led to Alexis Sanchez landing with Manchester United. Since that sensational January 2018 transaction, Mkhitaryan has scored six goals and assisted four times in 28 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
