Manchester United star Paul Pogba could be sidelined for up to two months after suffering a thigh injury while on international duty with France, according to ESPN's Rob Dawson.

The injury occurred during a shooting drill in training on Monday and forced the midfielder to withdraw from the France squad.

The French FA evaluated the 28-year-old and informed United officials that Pogba could be out of action for four-to-six weeks.

He's expected to undergo further testing upon his return to Manchester.

Pogba - who's serving a three-game ban after picking up a red card against Liverpool - could miss up to 12 games for United.

News of Pogba's potential extended absence comes as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after United suffered their sixth loss in 12 matches in the Manchester derby.

Manchester United sit sixth in the table with 17 points from 11 games.

Pogba, whose contract expires next summer, is the second United star to go down with an injury this month after defender Raphael Varane was ruled out for one month with a hamstring issue.
