Red Bull won't pursue Vettel for 2021: 'That is a definite no'

Sebastian Vettel's Formula One future has gotten murkier.

On Friday, Red Bull Racing ruled out bringing Vettel back into the fold for the 2021 season

"We think we have a great pairing in Max (Verstappen) and Alex (albon), and we think that has great potential for the future as well, so unfortunately it’s not something that we’re going to be able to accommodate," Team principal Christian Horner said on Sky Sports, according F1.com.

"That is a definite no I’m afraid, Sebastian is aware of that. It’s unusual for a four-time world champion to be out of a drive at this point in the year so I guess he has got a couple of choices available to him, assuming Racing Point or a year out and re-evaluate the options in a year’s time."

Vettel won all his titles in consecutive years (2010-13) while driving for Red Bull.

Vettel expressed a desire to return to the team on Thursday prompting Horner to say there's simply no room. The 33-year-old is finishing out his final year driving for Ferrari, who recently announced they would not be extending his contract beyond the 2020 season. Carlos Sainz will be taking his place.

It briefly appeared like Vettel would have an option to join Renault before Fernando Alonso's return to F1 was revealed earlier this week.

With Ferrari, Red Bull, and Renault ruled out, Vettel's options are limited.
