Aymeric Laporte can finally make his international debut in France's upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers after returning to a senior squad for the first time since March 2017.

The Manchester City defender was an unused substitute for Les Bleus three times when he was an Athletic Bilbao player but was not in Didier Deschamps' plans again until Thursday. The manager has opted for the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Presnel Kimpembe, and Mamadou Sakho as his left-sided center-backs in recent years.

Laporte has won five major trophies with Manchester City since being excluded from France's national team, which won the World Cup in 2018.

One surprising omission from the roster is Alexandre Lacazette, who continues to be a key part of Unai Emery's Arsenal attack. Instead, Olivier Giroud and Wissam Ben Yedder will vie with Antoine Griezmann for a striking berth.

France takes on Albania and Andorra over the upcoming international break and currently holds the top spot in Group H of Euro 2020 qualifying.
