As Erling Haaland was having an unusually quiet evening during Manchester City's 1-1 draw at Real Madrid, his father stole the show away from the pitch when security escorted him away from a section of supporters for celebrating Kevin De Bruyne's goal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Some home fans took exception with the Manchester City's star's father, Alfie Haaland, for his celebration after De Bruyne's equalizer canceled out Vinicius Junior's opening goal in the Champions League semifinal affair.

The elder Haaland appeared to enjoy the attention, goading Los Blancos supporters near him by gesturing with his arms and cupping his ear.

He was also captured performing offensive gestures toward fans.

It wasn't long before security was alerted to the situation and moved the 50-year-old Norwegian from his suite.

Haaland described his interaction with Real Madrid fans as "some good banter" on Twitter. He also denied reports that he provoked the crowd by throwing peanuts at people.

"They were not happy when City scored," he said. "Typical. Then we had to move 50 meters away. Nothing more. All happy. Well nearly."
