Did Kevin Na let the cat out of the bag?

In an interview with Sky Sports, the American revealed he believes Tiger Woods will captain the United States Ryder Cup team in 2022.

"My goal is to make the Ryder Cup team this year, and I know the following Ryder Cup is in Italy and the captain I believe is Tiger Woods, so that's another thing that I'm looking forward to," Na said.

Whoops. Nothing about captaincy for the future Ryder Cup has been reported, which Na quickly realized.

"I heard rumors! Am I starting a rumor? That's what I heard. Am I not supposed to say anything? I don't know, I've heard rumors! I won't tell you who I heard them from, but it wasn't from him. It was from one of his friends!"

Despite being unconfirmed for now, Woods does possess the resume of a future Ryder Cup captain. He's represented the United States eight times as a player and once as an assistant captain in 2016. He also captained - and played for - the winning Presidents Cup team in 2019.

Steve Stricker will act as captain for the 2020 Ryder Cup, scheduled to take place at the end of September in Whistling Straits, Wisconsin.
