And that's it. The arduous yet entertaining slog of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign is over after Sunday's rip-roaring finale.

Everton spent around 40 minutes in the relegation zone before Abdoulaye Doucoure's thunderbolt. Five goals were scored in two matches and a whopping eight were equally shared between relegated Southampton and Liverpool. Aston Villa qualified for the Europa Conference League ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford.

Here, theScore picks out the best stats and facts to surface following a thrilling end to the season.

1 - Chelsea won once across all competitions during Frank Lampard's second spell at Stamford Bridge. Is the iconic midfielder's managerial career already over?

2 - Leicester City are the second former Premier League winners to suffer relegation. Blackburn Rovers dropped four seasons after winning the 1994-95 title. It took the Foxes seven years to fall after their 2015-16 heroics.

3 - Only five teams have won England's top tier in three consecutive seasons: Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United (twice), and now Manchester City.

4 - For the fourth time in 31 Premier League seasons, all three promoted sides avoided relegation. Fulham secured a midtable finish, Gary O'Neil impressively guided Bournemouth to safety, and Steve Cooper navigated a turbulent spell at Nottingham Forest to preserve the club's top-flight status.

5 - Only five teams have completed a Premier League double over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. Brentford joined the club this season with their 1-0 win on the final day, following Chelsea (2016-17), Wolverhampton Wanderers (2019-20), Manchester United (2019-20), and Tottenham (2021-22).

6 - Brighton & Hove Albion ended the season in sixth place. It's their highest-ever finish in the top flight, and they're set to compete in Europe for the first time.

10 - Southampton signed 10 players last summer. All of their arrivals were aged 25 or younger and only Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who joined on a season-long loan from Arsenal, had Premier League experience. The Saints were ill-equipped for the rigors of a relegation battle.

11 - Crystal Palace's Michael Olise finished the season with 11 assists, putting him level with Arsenal's Bukayo Saka. No other player aged 21 or under has provided more assists in Europe's top five leagues.

12 - Leicester have dropped from England's first division for the 12th time. That's the joint-most relegations with Birmingham City.

14 - Aston Villa were in 14th place when Unai Emery took over as head coach. They rose to seventh under the manager's watch and will compete in the Europa Conference League next season. It will be the Villans' first European campaign in 13 years.

16 - Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne is the first player to lead the Premier League in assists in four separate seasons. He finished with 16, with half of those setting up Erling Haaland.

20 - Newcastle United ended 20 years without Champions League football by finishing fourth. The Magpies' last match in Europe's premier competition was a 2-0 defeat to Barcelona at St. James' Park in 2003. The great Sir Bobby Robson worked in the home dugout while Patrick Kluivert and Thiago Motta scored for the visitors.

26 - Arsenal equaled their all-time club record for most league wins in a 38-game campaign with 26. The Gunners led the Premier League table for 248 days, the most for a team that failed to win the title in English top-flight history, but their progress is undeniable. The future looks bright for Mikel Arteta's side.

27 - Erik ten Hag equaled Manchester United's all-time record for home wins across all competitions in a single season. It was a promising first term at Old Trafford under the Dutch tactician.

30 - Tottenham talisman Harry Kane is the only player to score 30 or more goals in a single Premier League season and not win the Golden Boot. And it's happened twice. Liverpool's Mohamed Salah scored 32 times in 2017-18 when Kane tallied 30. The England captain finished six strikes behind Haaland's relentless 36-goal performance.

31 - Wolverhampton Wanderers' 31 goals were the fewest scored this season. Daniel Podence and Ruben Neves were their joint-top scorers with six apiece. It's obvious where Wolves must improve to avoid relegation next year.

44 - Chelsea registered their lowest points tally (44) since they were relegated into the second tier in 1988. They scored a paltry 38 goals while finishing 14th despite a huge transfer outlay over their last two transfer windows.

70 - 2023-24 will be Everton's 70th consecutive season in England's top tier and 121st overall. The latter figure is more than any other team, with Aston Villa in second with 110. Doucoure instantly earned legendary status after his sublime finish proved to be the eventual winner against Bournemouth.

57 + 54 - Andy Robertson has 57 Premier League assists and Trent Alexander-Arnold has 54. The Liverpool duo are the top two defensive providers in the competition's history. Everton legend Leighton Baines is third with 53.

1,073 - Doucoure's famous strike was the 1,073rd of the Premier League season. It passed the previous goals record of 1,072 for a 20-team campaign in 2018-19. The final total for 2022-23 was 1,084.

3,272 - Declan Rice had the most game time for West Ham United in the 2022-23 Premier League season with 3,272 minutes. The midfielder, who's linked with a lucrative transfer from the Irons this summer, also topped his team's lists for passes (2,078), successful tackles (79), and interceptions (62) and ranked third in successful dribbles (35).
