Mauricio Pochettino has told his new bosses at Paris Saint-Germain that Dele Alli is his No. 1 target in the January transfer window, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.

The Ligue 1 champions hope to sign the English international on loan, but Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly reluctant to let anybody leave while they compete on four fronts - the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup, and League Cup - over a busy second half of the campaign.

PSG are also linked with Inter Milan's Christian Eriksen, another player who worked under Pochettino at Spurs.

Alli blossomed during Pochettino's four-and-a-half-year reign in north London. The midfielder's haul of 18 goals and seven assists in the 2016-17 Premier League term is his best to date, and he has 37 England caps.

However, the 24-year-old has made only four top-flight appearances - totaling 74 minutes - this season and is reportedly keen to play more ahead of this summer's European Championship.

Alli hasn't fallen out with anybody at Spurs, including manager Jose Mourinho, Romano adds.

Further talks between Spurs and PSG are expected in the coming days.
