Arsenal players reportedly held a heated discussion following the loss to Wolves on Tuesday that now leaves the Gunners misfiring in 14th place.

Manager Mikel Arteta encouraged members of the first team to participate in a candid conversation before several players stayed behind for a "stormy" and "intense" exchange between themselves, sources told ESPN UK's James Olley.

Sources claim the discussion between players was constructive, and the consensus was to back Arteta despite a poor run of four Premier League defeats in six outings.

An energized Arsenal bounced back midweek in Europa League play, albeit against Rapid Vienna, trouncing the Austrian side 4-1. Arteta made several changes to the team that was beaten at the Emirates Stadium by Wolves, which marked a third successive domestic home defeat.

The Gunners face a stern test on Sunday when they make the short trip to face league leaders Tottenham.

Arteta also reportedly addressed the training ground bust-up between David Luiz and Dani Ceballos from November during the first part of the meeting. Arteta reiterated a promise to find who was responsible for leaking information about the incident to the press.
