Former teammates Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez could one day find themselves squaring off against each other in North America.

The pair, who spent years together at Arsenal, revealed in separate interviews that they're open to playing in Major League Soccer. However, neither is prepared to make the leap across the pond at this time.

Giroud, 32, said he's intrigued by the notion of playing in MLS, but that he's yet to make a decision over his future beyond next summer when his contract at Chelsea expires.

"MLS, for my family, my children who speak English, it is interesting. In a year? Two years? I don't know when. But of course, I will be opened to a new challenge," the French World Cup winner told RMC Sport, as translated by Julien Laurens of ESPN FC.

Giroud added: "It is not only MLS which could interest me."

Meanwhile, Sanchez, who recently joined Inter on loan from Manchester United, will consider offers from interested MLS clubs once his career in Europe comes to an end.

"They had told me about Miami, but I have got six or five years left at a good level in Europe. Although one day I could play in the United States," the 30-year-old Sanchez said, according to ESPN.

"I'd like it a lot to play in (MLS), it is a league that is growing and is very good."

If they eventually make a move to North America, the pair would join a long list of former Premier League stars who've played in MLS, including David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and Thierry Henry.
