Harry Maguire has informed Leicester City of his desire to join either Manchester United or Manchester City, according to John Percy of The Telegraph.

One of those clubs would need to meet Leicester's valuation of the English defender, which is believed to be in the range of £80 million to £90 million. Leicester will not attempt to block a transfer if their price demands are met, according to Percy.

Maguire, who's spent two seasons with the Foxes since a reported £12-million move from Hull City in 2017, has not submitted a formal transfer request, Percy added. Leicester apparently expect the player to conduct himself professionally if a move to Manchester does not materialize before the summer transfer window closes on Aug. 9.

United reportedly submitted an offer for Maguire earlier in July worth £70 million that fell short of Leicester's valuation, while City have seemingly yet to submit a bid.

However, the 26-year-old would apparently prefer to join City, which would afford him the opportunity to play Champions League football next season, according to Rob Dawson of ESPN FC.

Maguire attracted plenty of attention last summer after his impressive performance at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. United saw their effort to sign Maguire fall short when the central defender put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at Leicester.
