West Ham United have received a bid worth £35 million from an unconfirmed Chinese club for Austrian attacker Marko Arnautovic, reports the BBC's Simon Stone.

Senior club sources told The Telegraph's Jason Burt that the bid has been rejected and that no offers for Arnautovic will be entertained this month. Burt adds the 29-year-old is the Irons' highest-paid player but has nevertheless been offered a substantial pay rise by the forthcoming Chinese club.

Arnautovic has scored eight goals in 17 games in all competitions this season, making him the Hammers' joint-highest scorer this season. He is contracted at the London Stadium until 2022, having signed a five-year deal at the club when he joined from Stoke City for a fee ultimately rising to £25 million in 2017.

The 29-year-old appeared to react unhappily when he was substituted only 20 minutes into the 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham City on Saturday after he had already scored the match's opening goal. West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini suggested the move was made because the attacker "felt some pain in his back."
