By the numbers: A free-scoring Boxing Day in the Premier League

Manchester City slumped to a second consecutive Premier League defeat on Wednesday, widening Liverpool's advantage over the reigning champions at the top of the table, and allowing Tottenham to leapfrog Pep Guardiola's side for second place.

Here are some of the most eye-opening stats from a high-scoring Boxing Day in the Premier League:

3: Their stunning defeat to Leicester City means the Citizens have now dropped more games in the Premier League this season (three) than they did during the 2017-18 campaign (two).

4: Paul Pogba has been involved in four tallies - two goals and two assists - since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's appointment as Manchester United boss. The Frenchman found the net twice in a 3-1 win over Huddersfield.

6: For the first time since Nov. 2, 2002, Liverpool will be sitting on a six-point lead atop the table come the end of the day's fixtures.

8: Manchester City have conceded more league goals in their last four matches (eight) than league leaders Liverpool have all season.

11: After a dominant 5-0 win over Bournemouth on Wednesday, Tottenham have now scored 11 goals in their last two matches.

41: On the back of a 5-1 battering at the hands of Everton, Burnley have now conceded more Premier League goals this season (41) than they did all of last year (39).

50: Liverpool have become only the third side in Premier League history to rack up 50 or more points after their opening 19 matches of a season. The other two clubs to accomplish that feat, Chelsea in 2005-06 and last year's Manchester City, both went on to capture the title.
