Tottenham activated their option to extend Jan Vertonghen's contract until 2020, the club confirmed Tuesday.
The new deal should end the speculation over the defender's future in north London, which picked up steam earlier in the season as he entered the final months of his old contract.
The 31-year-old recently became Belgium's most capped player with 110 appearances. He's featured in 264 matches since joining Tottenham from Ajax in 2012 and was named to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year last season.
