Manchester United reached an agreement to sell Daley Blind to Ajax on Monday and said "a full announcement will be made in due course" regarding the deal.

The 28-year-old's transfer fee is reportedly worth an initial £14 million that could eventually rise to £18.5 million.

Blind, who can play in a variety of defensive roles, has fallen out of favour at United under Jose Mourinho, and apparently receives a weekly salary of £120,000. He started just four Premier League matches last season and has fallen further down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the summer arrivals of deep-lying midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Diogo Dalot from FC Porto.

Blind, son of former Netherlands manager Danny, joined Ajax's celebrated youth academy at age 8 and collected four Eredivisie titles with the club before being signed by compatriot Louis van Gaal in 2014. He won the FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League during his four-season spell with United.
