Whoever comes in to assume managerial duties at Bayern Munich will be one lucky bench boss.

The Bavarian giants, currently without a permanent coach after Niko Kovac's firing earlier this week, blew Borussia Dortmund out of the water in a one-sided edition of Der Klassiker on Saturday.

Robert Lewandowski increased his absurd scoring total to 16 Bundesliga goals with a brace at the Allianz Arena. A Serge Gnabry tap-in and Mats Hummels' own goal rounded out a dominant 4-0 win.

By finding the net again, Lewandowski became the first player in Bundesliga history to score in 11 consecutive matches. Including the Champions League, the prolific Polish superstar has scored in each of his appearances this season.

With interim boss Hansi Flick on the touchline, Bayern dominated right from the opening whistle, outshooting BVB by an 18-1 clip.

Bayern, who jumped up to third in the table with the win, have now scored 24 goals over their last five league matches at home against Dortmund.

Lucien Favre's side, meanwhile, sits fifth and two points adrift of Saturday's victors.
