Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is facing a race to be fit for the Champions League final after injuring his hamstring in Tuesday's win over Aston Villa.

A scan revealed that the Brazilian suffered a hamstring strain that will keep him out of Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea and Liverpool's final two Premier League matches of the season, manager Jurgen Klopp said Thursday.

Klopp, however, said there's "a good chance" Fabinho will be available for the Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 28.

Fabinho's potential absence in the Champions League final would be a huge blow for the Reds. The 28-year-old has been a regular in the heart of Liverpool's midfield and will likely be in the starting lineup if fit.

The injury is also a damaging blow for Liverpool's chances of catching Premier League leaders Manchester City. They were even on points with Pep Guardiola's side ahead of City's clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.

Liverpool take on Southampton and Wolves to conclude their Premier League campaign.

Curtis Jones or James Milner will likely see an increase in playing time and could be called into action in the FA Cup final.
