The event headlined by Floyd Mayweather's exhibition boxing match against Don Moore on Saturday in Dubai was postponed following the death of United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, promoter Global Titans announced Friday.

Former UFC champion Anderson Silva was set to face Bruno Machado, also in an exhibition boxing match, in the co-main event. Badou Jack was also on the card.

Starting Saturday, work in the country "will be suspended at all ministries, departments, and federal, local, and private entities" for three days, according to state media WAM.

A new date for the event - slated to take place on a helipad on top of the Burj Al Arab hotel - will be announced soon.

Mayweather was set to compete in his third exhibition match since retiring from professional boxing in 2017. The all-time great is coming off a bout with YouTube star Logan Paul last June.

Silva has enjoyed success in the ring after recently crossing over from MMA. "The Spider" defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by decision last June and knocked out fellow ex-UFC titleholder Tito Ortiz in an exhibition last September.
