White: UFC, Mayweather agreed to deal and could do 'something fun' in 2020

Dana White said on Thursday that a deal is in place for the UFC to work with boxer Floyd Mayweather in 2020.

Weeks after Mayweather posted on Instagram that he's coming out of retirement to work with White on "another spectacular event in 2020," the UFC president teased a possible spectacle involving the undefeated boxer during an appearance on "The Jim Rome Show."

"We sat at the Clippers game. We started talking and we literally got a deal done right there on the court," White said, according to Nolan King of USA Today. "We shook hands. We have a deal. And if things play out the way Floyd and I think they will, I’ll probably sit down with Al Haymon in March and get a deal on paper."

White wouldn't divulge details about a possible event with Mayweather, who fought popular UFC competitor Conor McGregor in a highly anticipated boxing match in August 2017. Mayweather won the fight by 10th-round TKO.

"Let’s see how the next few months play out," White said. "We could be doing something fun, probably. I think if everything goes our way, Floyd and I would be doing something in October or November."
