Milos Raonic is off to the Australian Open quarterfinals after defeating Marin Cilic in straight sets in the Round of 16.

The Canadian smacked 35 aces and won 80% of his first-serve points for a 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 victory at Margaret Court Arena. He finished the match with 55 winners against 23 unforced errors.

Raonic, who entered the tournament seeded 32nd, will face Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals. The 29-year-old hasn't advanced past the final eight at a Grand Slam since reaching the Wimbledon final in 2016.

Cilic, the 2014 US Open champion and a finalist at the Australian Open in 2018, has now failed to get out of the fourth round in five consecutive Grand Slam appearances. He called a medical timeout after dropping the first three games of the second set to Raonic, receiving attention for his back before resuming the match.

Raonic has yet to drop serve as he heads into the second week of the tournament, saving all seven break points he's faced thus far. He's made the quarterfinals Down Under five times in the last six years.
