Milos Raonic has withdrawn from the French Open due to an ongoing knee injury, Tennis Canada announced Thursday.

The world No. 17 hasn't played since the Miami Open in March and recently withdrew from the Madrid Open and the Rome Masters.

It's the latest setback for the hard-serving Canadian, who's endured his share of injuries throughout his career. The 28-year-old got off to a strong start in the 2019 season, reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the semifinals of Indian Wells.

Raonic reached his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon in 2016 and ended the season ranked No. 3 in the world after a semifinal run at the ATP World Tour Finals.

The draw ceremony for the French Open takes place Thursday afternoon.
